Bipolar and Mood Disorder Counseling

For most people, it is difficult to imagine going from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in the matter of a few days.  We tend to hover somewhere in the middle with occasional spikes in mood that are usually associated with life events, such as the birth of a child, or the loss of a job.  However, for people with bipolar disorder and related mood disorders, extreme mood shifts can last for weeks or months.  Particularly for bipolar disorder, moods can cycle between intense euphoria and deep depression, causing instability and disruption to work and home life.

With support from mental health professionals and practice, people with bipolar and related mood disorders can recognize the signs of a manic or depressive episode and take steps to manage episodes effectively when they occur.  Our licensed therapists at The Counseling Center of Florence work with clients of all ages with bipolar and related mood disorders, and can provide education and techniques to make their lives and mental health more manageable.
